From Melbourne Airport

SKYBUS PENINSULA EXPRESS (Tullamarine Airport to St Kilda)
You will need to catch the Skybus which departs from Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 at the airport and get off at the first stop which is on Barkly St (we are located at 102 Barkly St – directly across the intersection from where you are dropped off).
The service runs from 6:30am – 7:00pm 365 days a year.
The journey time is approximately 60-75 minutes.

Melbourne City EXPRESS (Tullamarine Airport to Melbourne City)
You will need to catch the Skybus which departs from Terminals 1, 3 and 4 at the airport and this will take you directly into *Southern Cross Station.
The services runs 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
The journey time is 30 to 45 minutes.

From Avalon Airport

SkyBus Avalon City Express runs between Avalon Airport and Southern Cross Station in the Melbourne CBD. The buses are organised to be available for every major flight arriving and departing from the airport.
Buses depart every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes on weekends.
The journey time is approximately 50 minutes.

From Southern Cross Station
Walk out the front of the station to Spencer Street. Take tram number 96 tram to St Kilda. Get off at the last stop, walk straight ahead about 50m and turn left onto Barkly St. Walk up Barkly St for about 5 minutes (400m) and you will cross over Carlisle St (a busy road intersection), then past a Shell petrol station and you will come to Barkly Backpackers at 102 Barkly St. We are located on the right hand side just after the Woodfrog Bakery, just before Inkerman St.

Travelling on Melbourne public transport

For all travel on Melbourne’s trams, trains and buses you will need a Myki card. Buy your Myki card and travel credit BEFORE you travel. You can buy a card at train stations, selected retail outlets including all 7-Eleven stores and onboard buses. You can register your myki so that your balance is protected in case your card is lost or stolen.
